Thoughts from the Chapter Advisor

Gentlemen, let's get ready to RUMBLLLLE. Some of our newer members are getting restless for some fun activities. I have heard some are getting together at each other's houses to play video games and basketball. It's great to see our active members are taking an interest in visiting our less
active members. But remember, we still have a chapter to run, so remind your less active brethren to attend the business meetings too. If there is an activity you want to do, the new business portion of the meeting is a golden opportunity to stand up and tell the rest of the chapter about it. Activities planned in a meeting as a group can be as fun as those outlined in the term.

Summer is in full swing and it has been a while since our last movie/game night so why not plan a movie/game night prospect party at your next meeting. Let your Councilors know what you like to do so we can plan the fun activities you want to do most. We have lost another member to majority and some will be going off to college again soon. Now more than ever, you need to invite your friends (prospective members) to attend our fun activities.

We have another car wash fundraiser coming up August 12th. Put on some shorts, some sunblock, and have a blast getting each other drenched while you wash cars. Invite your friends, siblings and parents to spend the midday washing cars with us.

Finally, David J. Nye Chapter is having their inspection on the DeMolay degree on August 6th. I will be going with brother Jeremy and there will be plenty of room in our minivan for others to go too. Why not take this golden opportunity to visit other DeMolays and see their ritual work before our own inspection on August 9th. Medina Chapter will be having their installation of officers on August 19th and brother Jeremy could use your support as he does Installing Chaplain for the first time.

Greetings From The 2nd District Chaplain

So we begin with July 14, 2006 at the 2nd District Awards Night. Awards were given to Steven Kingsmill PMC-MSA award and DAD Vargo The Cross of Honor award. Selynma Chapter also received an award for Outstanding Communications. Nate Washburn the 2nd District Chairman has many activities planned for this year and I hope that all of you participate and invite your family and friends, they are more than welcome to come!

This year is a year of change for the 2nd District and to begin our transition Dad Hampton has been given the pleasure of becoming the 2nd District Governor. Many great men are stepping down from their offices, that so proudly and honorably held for years, only to make room and set the standards and expectations even higher for their replacements. Dad Woodworth we will miss you as our District Governor but we still look forward to seeing around the state.

Recently I have been involved with the 2nd District Events. July 15 I was Installing Sr. Deacon for Painesville Chapter. July 16 was the 2nd District Pioneer Waterland Outing. July 18 I went to Medina to help with their Inspection meeting. I have also helped and participated in the Rainbow and Job’s Daughters functions. It is always good to support the other organizations as well as our own because these are the girls who could be our future Chapter Sweethearts!

I bid you a great and safe summer!

Respectfully submitted,
Jeremy Vargo PMC Selynma Chapter
